How long does an acupuncture treatment take?
Acupuncture treatments at Meridian Healing Centre take approximately one hour.
Before you receive an acupuncture treatment, Dr Kirk Wilson will conduct a Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis. This diagnosis will determine the acupuncture treatment protocol you will receive on that particular session. For the efficacy of acupuncture to be optimal, it is important for a diagnosis to be conducted prior to each acupuncture treatment. This ensures the acupuncture treatment protocol can be adjusted to best treat the condition as presented in each patient at that exact moment in time.
Most acupuncture patients will receive a short back massage to help them relax before they receive their acupuncture needles. Then once the acupuncture needles are administered they will remain in situ for between 20 to 25 minutes. Depending on the condition being treated and the anatomical locations of the acupuncture needles, moxibustion may be administered whilst the needles remain in situ.
When the acupuncture needles are removed, most patients will receive cupping to further relax their back. The majority of patients at Meridian Healing Centre are office workers. As a consequence, they generally present with varying degrees of muscular stiffness in their back from spending much of their day sitting in front of a computer screen.
The acupuncture treatment protocols at Meridian Healing Centre take a holistic approach and are administered with an attention to detail. Kirk does whatever is necessary to best treat each patient for one set price. If required, you may receive acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping and massage for the price of a standard acupuncture treatment. Comparatively, this makes acupuncture treatments at Meridian Healing Centre excellent value for money.
